At a GlanceCota is a 6'6" Xaela Female, commonly seen wearing long coats, with many, many belts. She seems to be in her early, to mid thirties. She is commonly seen with a rather aloof and detached look upon her face, and smells faintly of cloves.

History Repeats

Cota was born in the Azim Steppe, to a powerful warband leader in the Dotharl tribe. Her birth was rather fortunate, an unusual omen, she was born at nearly twice the size of a normal Auri female, lending to her height in adolescence. She was taller than many male Au'Ra in her tribe, in youth and her adulthood.

But not all in the steppe was good for her, for she was born of the Dotharl during one of their greatest acts of cruelty, the extermination of the Hotgo tribe. One that clashed with her ideals. She was taught that the pursuit of combat was one that was undertook for constant self-betterment and, for some, simply the thrill.But, the things she saw, the things she participated in, they weren't to better herself, or any other. There were many who refused to fight back, and despite that, they were killed anyways. It wasn't a battle, it was a cleansing. It sickened her to no end.One fateful night, upon the eve of an offensive that would see another camp destroyed, Cota snuck into her father's tent, overpowered the warrior, and killed him with her bare hands. Immediately following this, she stole a horse, and fled the steppe, catching the next boat away from Hingashi that she could. Despite this, her future visits to the Steppe would illicit frightened responses from Xaela of other tribes, and even some from her own.

But, despite it all, she'd managed to find her way to Thavnair, where she met her teacher, a survivor of the Blades of Gunnhildr, who'd nearly all been wiped out during the Bozjan Incident. He, who saw a spark of ferocity in her that could be tamed, refined into something better, more than the sum of it's parts, took her on as a student.For nearly five years, they trained together, she was taught everything she could learn, and, eventually, the man's age caught up with him. She left him before he aged to a point where he could no longer care for himself, at his own request. She made him a promise that she wouldn't teach his secrets to anyone else.

After departing from Thavnair, she set out to find her own way in the world. Making her way to Thanalan, and taking odd jobs in Ul'Dah, as a mercenary. She quickly became known for her excessively aggressive, yet elegant fighting style, using a combination of technique and raw power that could overwhelm all but the most technical of fighters.She is currently open for hire, at the starting rate of half a million gil for the simpler things, and more, depending on the complexity or danger associated with the job.

Hiring.Cota, being a mercenary, tends to do jobs for many people, whether it be protection, bounty-hunting, or just plain old cargo delivery. Do you have a job you need completed?

Target.You've been selected as a target for a bounty, you may be taken dead, or alive, or, often times, you might just pay the bounty requirement, and you'll be left alone. Why are you being hunted? What did you do? Was it justified?

Drinking Buddy.Cota isn't always working, sometimes she just likes to take a load off, and grab a drink. Maybe you meet her at a bar, or ask her out to one. Where are we going to go? Why do you want to talk to her?
